HONG KONG — June 30, 2026 — Aerovision Technology Limited (ATL) General Manager Mr. Horace Cheung was invited to speak at the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association (HKAIA) conference, held at the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy themed “Research on the opportunities of developing low-altitude economy to Hong Kong enterprises”, the landmark event aimed to share key research findings with industry stakeholders and discuss the future of Hong Kong businesses in the rapidly emerging Low-Altitude Economy (LAE).
This conference concluded a 17-month Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association (HKAIA) project funded by the government’s Trade and Industrial Organization Support Fund (TSF), which featured two focus group meetings and two site visits. Along with releasing the final research report, the event gathered experts from Aerovision, FlightPro, EHang, HKUST, Shanghai DianJi University, UAS Limited, and Ziyan UAV. Focusing on UAV, eVTOL, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM), the discussions tackled critical issues like airspace integration, infrastructure, cross-border ties, aviation safety and sustainable operations so that different stakeholders can map out their own pathways on Hong Kong’s 2026–2030 low-altitude development blueprint.
Delivering a presentation titled “Ensuring Safe and Sustainable Operations in Low-Altitude Economy”, Mr. Horace Cheung (Horace) shared his expert insights on how to build safe and sustainable operations as the Low-Altitude Economy (LAE) grows. He elaborated on how recent policy shifts, [HY4.1]such as China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the Hong Kong Sandbox Project, will bring major benefits to the local aviation industry. He explained that these policy developments [HY5.1]will help secure the funding needed to scale up pilot projects in the region. While also enable [HY6.1]Hong Kong to connect with mass manufacturing and application with cities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou, while using Hong Kong’s sandbox project guidelines to create globally trusted, stress-tested certification standards for the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

Building on the policy framework discussed in his presentation, Horace also highlighted ATL’s latest technological breakthrough of the Intelligent GNSS Interference Detection and Monitoring System (IGIDMS). This sophisticated system identifies, tracks, and pinpoints the precise origin of signal interference or anomalies across multi-level airspace, sending instant alerts to relevant parties for rapid action through its active monitoring of environmental variables and human interference with GNSS signals. Without reliable signals, drone delivery and urban flight networks can’t scale. By providing detection and alerts against GNSS signal anomalies, IGIDMS is key to opening the LAE for real-world business. It gives the operators and regulators the early warning they need to act before disruptions escalate, while building the regulatory confidence that paves the way for routine commercial operations and positions Hong Kong as the one setting the standard in safe urban air mobility.
